Coimbatore: A 28-year-old man, who was beaten up in a drunken brawl by four persons in full public glare, succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.
The attack was recorded in a surveillance camera at a traffic signal on Mettuppalayam Road, leading to the arrest of the culprits.
Santosh Kumar was thrashed by the four men near a traffic signal in Saibabha Colony locality at 2 p.m. on Sunday, even as passersby watched the incident, visuals released by police showed.
The man was admitted to the government hospital and succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, police said.
With the help of recordings of the camera set up at strategic locations, police arrested the four persons and produced them before a court which remanded them to judicial custody.
Santosh’s wife on Tuesday submitted a memorandum seeking compensation and a government job.
