User Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options / Remove Task Manager
• Double-click the Remove Task Manager option.
• Set the policy to Not Configured.

Message: "The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator"

When you attempt to run CMD.exe or a batch file, you may receive the message "The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator". This is caused by restrictions placed in Registry. DisableCMD value is set to 1 or via Group Policy. To enable Task Manager, try any of these methods:

Method 1:

Using the console registry tool
Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)
REG add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System /v DisableCMD /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Method 2:

Edit the registry directly
Open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and navigate to:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
In the right-pane, double-click DisableCMD and set it's data to 0

Using Group Policy Editor in Windows XP Professional.
Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
Navigate to User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ System
Double-click the Prevent access to the command prompt
You can then disable or set the policy to Not Configured. Disabling or setting this policy to Not Configured should solve the problem

Speed up the Start Menu

The default speed of the Start Menu is pretty slow, but you can fix that by editing a Registry Key.

Fire up the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ MenuShowDelay
By default, the value is 400. Change this to a smaller value, such as 0, to speed it up.

If this doesn't work for some reason, then you might try the following:

Navigate to
Display Properties then Appearance then Effects and turn off the option titled Show menu shadow. You will get much better overall performance.

Hide files using Winrar and an JPG image

By using this trick, you can hide your files in a rar file, but it looks like a picture.
For this you need Winrar and a Picture to show instead the hidden file.

Steps:

1. Make a New Folder in any one drive, rename it to HIDDEN (you can put name of your wish).
Let it be in C drive,

so that its address is C:\HIDDEN\

2. Copy all your secret files to that folder.
Select all the files.
Right click and select "Add to HIDDEN.rar" , here HIDDEN is the name that you gave to that folder created in first step.

3. Delete all files, except the created HIDDEN.rar file.

4. Copy an image to that folder. Let its name be taken as pic.jpg. This picture is used to hide the Winrar file that we made.

5. Now open Command Prompt. (Start > Run > cmd )

6. Change the prompt to C:\HIDDEN\ .
To do that, in cmd, first type cd c:\HIDDEN\ (works only if that folder is in windows (C:) drive).
If that folder is created in other drive like D:, then firts type D: ad press enter, then type cd D:\HIDDEN\.

7. Now type the following:
COPY /b pic.jpg + hidden.rar picture.jpg

8. That creates a picture that looks same as pic.jpg in HIDDEN folder.
This picture.jpg contains all your files.

போடி: போடியில் நகராட்சி ஆரம்பப் பள்ளியில், ஒரே ஒரு மாணவர் படிக்கிறார். தேனி மாவட்டம், போடி 7வது பகுதி நகராட்சி ஆரம்பப் பள்ளி துவங்கி 50 ஆண்டுகளாகிறது. ஆரம்பத்தில் 800க்கும் அதிகமான மாணவர்கள் படித்தனர். ஒரு தலைமையாசிரியர், உதவி தலைமையாசிரியர் மற்றும் 7 ஆசிரியர்கள் பணியில் இருந்தனர். ஒருவர்: இக்கல்வியாண்டில் 5ம் வகுப்பில், ஒரே ஒரு மாணவர் மட்டுமே படிக்கிறார். பிற வகுப்பில் மாணவர்கள் இல்லை. இவருக்கு பாடம் நடத்த ஒரு தலைமை ஆசிரியர் பணிபுரிகிறார். காரணம் என்ன: பள்ளியில் மாணவர்களுக்கு தேவையான வசதிகள் உள்ளன. மாணவர் எண்ணிக்கை குறைவிற்கு தொடக்கக் கல்வித் துறை ஆர்வம் காட்டாததே முக்கிய காரணம். மாணவர் சேர்க்கைக்கான விழிப்புணர்வு ஊர்வலம் கூட இந்தாண்டில் நடக்க வில்லை. ஆசிரியர்கள் பதவி உயர்வை காரணம் காட்டி, வேறு பள்ளிக்கு பணி மாறுதலில் சென்றுவிட்டனர். இப்பணியிடத்திற்கு வேறு ஆசிரியரை நியமிக்கவில்லை.

தலைமை ஆசிரியர் மல்லிகா கூறுகையில், "தற்போது இரு மாணவர் படிக்கின்றனர். ஒருவர் மருத்துவ விடுப்பில் உள்ளார். மாணவர் சேர்க்கைக்கு என்னால் முடிந்தவரை முயற்சி செய்தேன். அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் தகவல் தந்துள்ளேன்,' என்றார்.

President Patil to lay foundation of IGNOU campus

President Pratibha Patil would Wednesday lay the foundation for the Rs.300 crore south zone campus of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) near this Kerala capital, a top official said Tuesday.

“This zonal campus comes after the university decided to decentralize its operations into five zones. This south zone campus would look after the operations of the four southern states and Puducherry,” IGNOU vice-chancellor V.N. Rajasekheran Pillai said.

This zonal campus is the first to be established and would be completed in 19 months, Pillai told reporters here.

To be spread across a 25-acre area on the outskirts here, the land for the campus has been given by the Kerala government.

The new campus will have a core faculty and staff of around 200 people, resident postgraduate and Ph.D scholars numbering 200, besides visiting research scholars and 600 professionals pursuing development programmes.

“This zonal campus is going to be a boon to the society and also for economically backward students of south India who are desirous to acquire higher education of high quality, irrespective of age, religion, gender, caste and creed,” said Pillai.

IGNOU helped 79,450 students from the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes categories to graduate free of cost last year, said Pillai.

The campus would house the administrative and academic complex, besides a guest house and a hostel.

Four million students from across India study in IGNOU, rated as the world’s biggest university.

“We offer 500 different programmes through 21 schools (faculties) and also 40 online courses. Statistics show that 47 percent of our students who completed their studies have managed to get a job. We were the first university in the country to introduce a student satisfaction survey with 28 questions given to students to assess the courses and the faculty,” added Pillai.

Over 20 new gene targets to treat high BP identified

Washington: Researchers have tracked down more than 20 new gene regions that play an important role in the risk of having high blood pressure.

The study offers new potential therapeutic targets for prevention of heart disease and stroke – the biggest cause of death worldwide.

The study by scientists from Queen Mary, University of London involved 351 scientists from 234 institutions based in 24 countries around the world.

This study analysed data on over 270,000 people to find genetic variations in the DNA of each person that were associated with higher or lower blood pressure.

This enabled them to identify 16 new gene regions influencing blood pressure and provided confirmation of 12 other gene regions that had previously been discovered by the Barts and The London team.

The researchers then combined the effects of genetic variation in all 28 gene regions and showed that these impact upon the risk of developing hypertension, stroke, coronary heart disease, and structural changes in the heart.

The combined effect of these variations on blood pressure is similar to the effect of a standard blood pressure lowering medicine.

Professor Patricia Munroe said: “This large multicentre collaboration has yielded many new genes for blood pressure, determining which gene and their function will improve our understanding of the basic architecture of hypertension, and should facilitate new therapeutic drug development.”

The study was recently published in Nature and Nature Genetics.

சென்னை: அரக்கோணம் அருகே சித்தேரியில் நடந்த ரயில் விபத்தில், சிக்னலை மீறி ரயிலை டிரைவர் ஓட்டியதில் மர்மம் ஏதும் உள்ளதா, சதிச் செயல் ஏதும் இருக்கலாம் என்ற சந்தேகம் எழுந்துள்ளது. அரக்கோணம் அருகே உள்ள சித்தேரி ரயில் நிலையம் அருகே நேற்று முன்தினம் இரவு 9.12 மணிக்கு, சிக்னலுக்காக நின்றிருந்த அரக்கோணம் - காட்பாடி பாசஞ்சர் ரயில் மீது, சென்னை பீச் ரயில் நிலையத்திலிருந்து வேலூர் கன்டோன்மென்ட் சென்ற மின்சார ரயில், பயங்கரமாக மோதியது. இதில் 10 பயணிகள் உயிரிழந்தனர்; 86 பேர் காயமடைந்தனர். இச்சம்பவத்தில், 90 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில் ரயில் மோதியதால் ரயில் இன்ஜின் சுக்குநூறாக நொறுங்கியது. இன்ஜினை தொடர்ந்து, இரண்டு பெட்டிகள் தண்டவாளத்தைவிட்டு இறங்கின. தொடர்ந்து உள்ள மூன்று பெட்டிகளும் சேதமடைந்தன. அரக்கோணம் ரயில் நிலையத்திலிருந்து சித்தேரி வரை மூன்று சிக்னல்கள் உள்ளன. இதில் இரண்டு சிக்னல்கள் தானியங்கி சிக்னல்கள், இதில் விபத்து நடந்த சித்தேரி சிக்னல், ஆள் மூலம் பராமரிக்கப்படுகிறது. ரயில் வேகமாக வந்து மோதும் போது, சித்தேரி சிக்னலில் சிவப்பு சிக்னல் தான் இருந்துள்ளது. அரக்கோணம் - காட்பாடி பாசஞ்சர் ரயில் அங்குள்ள லூப்-லைனில் செல்வதற்காக, லூப்-லைன் கிரீன் சிக்னலை எதிர்பார்த்து நின்றிருந்துள்ளது. பீச் ரயில் வந்த பாதையில் சிவப்பு சிக்னல் தான் இருந்துள்ளது. பீச் ரயிலை ஓட்டிய டிரைவர் ராஜ்குமார், இச்சிக்னலை கவனிக்காததால் தான், ரயில் விபத்தில் சிக்கியுள்ளது என்று பேசப்படுகிறது. அவர், தலை மற்றும் முகத்தில் பலத்த காயமடைந்ததால் நினைவின்றி, சென்னை அரசு பொது மருத்துவமனையில் அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவில் உள்ளார். விபத்து குறித்து தெற்கு ரயில்வே பொதுமேலாளர் தீபக் கிரிஷன் கூறும் போது, "விபத்துக்கு சிக்னல் காரணமில்லை. சிக்னல்கள் சரியாகவே இயங்கியுள்ளன. பீச் ரயில் ஓட்டிய டிரைவர், கவனக்குறைவாக ஓட்டியதால் விபத்து ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. மூன்று சிக்னல்கள் கிளியராக இருந்தால் தான், அந்த வழியாக ரயில் செல்ல கிரீன் சிக்னல் கிடைக்கும். சித்தேரியில், சிவப்பு சிக்னல் தான் இருந்துள்ளது. சிவப்பு சிக்னல் இருந்தால் ரயில் வேகம் குறைக்கப்பட்டு, 15 கி.மீ.,வேகத்தில் தான் இயக்கியிருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், ரயில் 90 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில் வந்து மோதியுள்ளது. விபத்திற்கு காரணம், டிரைவரின் கவனக் குறைவு தான் என முதல்கட்ட விசாரணையில் தெரியவந்துள்ளது' என்றும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

விபத்து குறித்து மத்திய ரயில்வே அமைச்சர் தினேஷ் திரிவேதி கூறும் போது, "விபத்திற்கு மனிதத் தவறுதான் காரணமென தெரிகிறது. ரயிலை ஓட்டிய டிரைவர் பலத்த காயமடைந்து, மயக்கமடைந்துள்ளார். மருத்துவமனையில் அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவில் உள்ளார். அவர் நினைவுக்கு வந்தவுடன், அவரிடம் நடத்தும் விசாரணையில் தான் விபத்திற்கான உண்மையான காரணம் தெரியவரும்' என்றும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். சிவப்பு சிக்னல் இருப்பது தெரிந்தும் டிரைவர், வேகத்தை குறைக்காமல் ஓட்டி, நின்றிருந்த ரயிலில் மோதியுள்ளார். டிரைவர் ஓய்வில்லாமல் ரயிலை ஓட்டியதால், கவனக்குறைவா அல்லது மது அருந்திவிட்டு ரயில் ஓட்டியதால் நடந்த விபத்தா என்றும் சந்தேகம் ஏற்படுகிறது. முதல் கட்ட விசாரணையில், டிரைவர் மது அருந்தவில்லை என்றே அதிகாரிகள் தரப்பில் கூறப்படுகிறது. இதனால், ரயில் விபத்தில் மர்மம் இருப்பதாகவும், சதிச் செயல் இருக்கலாம் என சந்தேகம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
கடந்த 2009ம் ஆண்டு, சென்னை சென்ட்ரல் மூர் மார்க்கெட் ரயில் நிலையத்தில் நிறுத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த, திருவள்ளூர் புறநகர் மின்சார ரயிலை, மர்மநபர் எடுத்து 120 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில், பாதை மாற்றி ஓட்டி வியாசர்பாடி நிலையத்தில், எதிரே வந்த சரக்கு ரயிலில் மோதியதால் நான்கு பேர் இறந்தனர். இந்த விபத்து மர்மமே இன்னும் விலகவில்லை. சி.பி.சி.ஐ.டி., வசம் விசாரணையில் உள்ளது.

2011, செப்., 13: சித்தேரி ரயில் நிலையத்தில், நின்றுக் கொண்டிருந்த அரக்கோணம் - காட்பாடி பயணிகள் ரயில் மீது, சென்னை கடற்கரை - வேலூர் சென்ற மின்சார ரயில் பின்புறமாக மோதியதில், 10 பேர் பலி; 70க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் காயம்.

ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் இரண்டு நாட்கள் விசாரணை : சித்தேரி ரயில் விபத்து குறித்து, ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் சென்னையில், இரண்டு நாட்கள் விசாரணை நடத்துகிறார். இந்த விபத்து குறித்து, ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் எஸ்.கே.மிட்டல் நாளையும் (16ம் தேதி) நாளை மறுநாளும் (17ம் தேதி) சென்னை சென்ட்ரலில் உள்ள, சென்னை ரயில்வே கோட்ட மேலாளர் அலுவலகத்தில் காலை 10 மணியிலிருந்து, மாலை 5 மணி வரை ரயில் பயணிகளிடமும், பொதுமக்களிடமும் நேரில் விசாரணை நடத்துகிறார். இதில் கலந்து கொள்ள இயலாதவர்கள், விபத்து குறித்து, தங்களுக்கு தெரிந்த தகவல்களை கடிதம் மூலம், பெங்களூரில் உள்ள தென்பிராந்திய ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் அலுவலகத்திற்கு பேக்ஸ் மூலம், 080-222 60650 என்ற எண்ணுக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கலாம் என்றும், தெற்கு ரயில்வே தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

A critical bug with the upgrade path, #1164852: Inconsistencies in field language handling has been addressed in this release, among other critical and major bugs. See the Drupal 7.8 release notes for a full listing.

Upgrading your existing Drupal 7 sites is strongly recommended. There are no new features in these releases. For more information about the Drupal 7.x release series, consult the Drupal 7.0 release announcement.

Vitamin C may improve respiratory rate of kids with asthma

Depending on the age of asthmatic children, their exposure to molds or dampness in their bedroom, and the severity of their asthma, vitamin C has greater or smaller beneficial effects, according to a new study.
Drs Mohammed Al-Biltagi from the Tanta University in Egypt and Harri Hemila from the University of Helsinki in Finland analyzed the effect of 0.2 grams per day of vitamin C on 60 asthmatic children aged 7 to 10 years.
The effect of vitamin C on the forced expiratory volume per one second (FEV1) was modified by age and exposure to molds or dampness.
In the younger children aged 7.0 to 8.2 years with no exposure to molds or dampness, vitamin C administration increased the FEV1 level by 37pc . In the older children aged 8.3 to 10 years with exposure to molds or dampness in their bedroom more than one year before the study, vitamin C increased the FEV1 level by only 21 percent.
The effect of vitamin C on the asthma symptoms was modified by age and the severity of asthma symptoms. In the younger children aged 7.0 to 8.2 years with mild asthma symptoms, the benefit of vitamin C was greatest. In the older children aged 8.3 to 10 years who had severe asthma symptoms, the benefit of vitamin C was smallest.
The researchers say that they consider that it is important to carry out further research to confirm their findings and to more accurately identify the groups of children who would receive the greatest benefit from vitamin C supplementation.
The study has been published in the Clinical and Translational Allergy.

People who want non-drug options for managing their high blood pressure are in for some good news: there are indeed some promising natural treatments to chose from.
“Right now we’re seeing a cultural shift where an increasing number of people want to avoid standard pharmaceuticals,” said John Bisognano, professor of Medicine and director of Outpatient Cardiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
“We’re also seeing a growing number of patients who require a large number of drugs to control their blood pressure and are looking for something else to help manage it.”
Bisognano and Kevin Woolf, M.D., a cardiology fellow at the Medical Center, emphasize that all patients with hypertension should adhere to the low-salt DASH diet, which is high in fiber, low in fats and incorporates lots of fruits and vegetables, and follow an exercise and weight loss regimen.
Beyond these lifestyle modifications, a dietary supplement to help lower blood pressure is the antioxidant coenzyme Q10, which is also involved in energy production.
Woolf also found that potassium helps lower blood pressure, and there is evidence that increasing the amount of potassium we get through the foods we eat could carry some of the same mild benefits as taking supplements.
Those looking for herbal remedies can turn to mistletoe extract as a potential option, although it should be used with caution because it can be toxic at high doses. Hawthorn is another remedy that may offer a slight drop in blood pressure. However, steer clear of St. John’s wort, ephedra/ma huang, yohimbine and licorice – all of which can increase blood pressure.
The researchers also found that acupuncture reduces blood pressure compared to placebo in patients also taking anti-hypertensive medications. Other techniques that may provide some benefit include Zen Buddhist meditation and Qi Gong.
Two devices that patients can use in the comfort of their own homes are the RESPeRATE breathing device and the Zona Plus hand drip device. The RESPeRATE system uses a breath sensor and gives patients feedback through headphones to help them slow their breathing, which research suggests benefits blood pressure. Research indicates that 15 minutes of practice daily can result in a modest reduction in blood pressure.
The Zona Plus is a device that patients grip in either hand and perform multiple sets of squeezing at different levels in response to electronic cues. Bisognano says there is no good explanation as to why this works, but studies found the device decreased hypertension in patients using it three days a week for at least eight weeks.
The study has been published in the Journal of Clinical Hypertension.

Indian delegation to tap Africa’s IT market

An Indian business delegation is to visit Nigeria and Ghana as part of an African tour in order to tap into the continent’s growing IT market which it said is headed for growth this year with market levels expected to reach USD 26.53 billion.
The NASSCOM delegation is due to visit Ghana and Nigeria during Sep 15-22 as part of the group’s Global Trade Development Initiative to explore new geographies for its members, a statement said.
NASSCOM is the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the IT-BPO industries in India. It has more than 1200 members, which include both Indian and multinational companies that have a presence in India.
The statement said the delegation would also visit Kenya which, it said, has “the most aggressive ICT economy in East Africa with the government being proactive and willing to invest in the sector.”
“Nigeria is the second biggest economy in Africa and is the largest in terms of its population and opportunity,” the statement said, adding that “Ghana offers the most suitable investment climate in the region and is often referred to as the Gateway to West Africa. This delegation would give ample exposure and flavour of the entire African continent.”
The delegation is led by Jai Menon, Group CIO of Bharti Enterprises & Director of Global Innovation & IT, Airtel, and Anil Bakht, Managing Director, Eastern Software Systems.
The statement said, “The emphasis of the NASSCOM delegation would be on creating awareness among the local companies about India, identifying potential companies for partnership and building a long-term engagement programme.”
The statement said, “Over the past few years, Africa has been one of the faster growing markets worldwide in ICT adoption and communication technology and has the potential of becoming one of the most important markets for the Indian IT industry. The liberalisation of Africa continues and most countries have established regulatory bodies to ensure a fair, competitive and enabling environment.”
“NASSCOM is also counting on a $5-billion credit line for Africa signed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to expand trade with Africa in May this year, as offering more opportunities for its members.
The statement said the NASSCOM delegation to Africa last year was well participated and appreciated, adding that “it was through participation in the delegation that member companies realized the huge business potential in Kenya and Nigeria. Feedback from members has indicated that they have started participating in tenders and began submitting proposals both in the government sector and non-govt sectors.”

Apple rejects China pollution allegations

China: Apple has defended itself against allegations its suppliers in China committed environmental violations.
In a report, “The Other Side of Apple II,” a coalition of Chinese non-governmental environmental organizations detailed alleged pollution caused by Apple’s supply chains in China, among those companies handling iPhone and iPad parts.
The 46-page report provided maps showing more than 20 suspected and confirmed Apple suppliers, as well as photos and descriptions of the alleged damage caused to local environments and communities.
“Apple is committed to ensuring the highest standards of social responsibility throughout our supply chain,” Apple said in an e-mail reply Wednesday to the organizations making the allegations. Apple said the companies it does business with “use environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.”
The NGOs also produced a video and posted on ku6.com, a popular Chinese video-sharing website. The video shows a small river with a yellow hue, allegedly polluted from the discharge of two companies nearby, one of them a suspected Apple supplier.
“We hope Apple will face the reality. The more its business grows, the more pollution it will cause,” said Ma Jun, director and founder of the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, which spearheaded the report.
Apple said there are “discrepancies” in the list of suppliers mentioned in the report and suggested a “private conference call” with the NGOs behind the report, a move that the Institute accepted.
“This is progress, and we welcome it,” said Ma. “We sent a different pollution report to Apple earlier this year, but received no response.”
Apple is widely popular in China. Earlier this year Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook said the company’s revenue in greater China reached $8.8 billion as of Q3 this year, a more than sixfold increase in year-to-date revenue.
